So tired

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

Well Im so tired.  This week I have now worked almost 80 hours this week.  I worked over pretty much every day this week.  Then Thursday night I didnt go home…until 11pm Friday night.  So that was an uber long day at work.  Im sitting here near St. Louis in a friends house about to pass out yet again.  Calum woke me up at 5:30am this morning to drive up here to St. Louis basicly.  We came up to work on a guys modified NX2000.  Plus I came up here to buy some SE-R seats from him to put in the NX2000 Im getting.  So got those, then I decided to buy his old wheels.  They are stock NX2000 wheels, but painted gray and with tires….for 100 dollars.  Cant complain about that.  So Ill be able to use a set for race tires and one set for street tires.  Ok…im about to pass out again.  Im going to try to lean back and sleep

Rain

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

This rain has to stop.  Its been raining here alllll day.  its kinda annoying ya know.  Plus the tires on my car are like rocks, I dont think they touched the asphalt the entire trip home.  It has rained like 3 out of the last 5 days and not just a light rain, a torrential down pour most days.

Had to work today.  It wasnt much fun going in on a Sunday but oh well do whatcha gota do.  I wasnt much needed in terms of what was really needed but I did get some work done.  We had moved our production supervisor staff office so had to move the pc’s back into there.  Then basicly I just helped out the maitence staff.  Had to reboot the server once that was it.  Oh well, this Nissan line isnt looking good thats for sure.  We may or may not make it by Friday.  I dont know what the penalties are for us not making the date but its starting to look that way.

Well then Ive been doing pretty good on getting back on the horse.  I took my lunch all last week and set to take it all this week.  Well close to it, I only have 4 meals I think.  Made some ground chuck chili and a salad.  Had chicken last week, it was filling but did get rather boring.  I am going to get back to the gym tomorrow night I think.  Will mean me not getting home till like 7pm most nights but thats going to have to be ok.  I really need to build that PVR sometime soon, so I dont miss the few tv shows I like.  All I lack is one 100 dollar-ish card and I could build it.  I just have other prioities.  Im also going to start training for the Country Music Half Marathon.  A friend said he is going to run it with me so Ill do it then.  I dont know if I can run the whole way but Ill get there.  Im doing 2ish miles a night already.   So I may forgo the usual lifting at the gym and do more cardio for the next few months.  That then the CRAM again and who knows what else.  I gota get this shit going again.

Ok Im finaly settling down for the night.  Hate working on a Sunday, saturday would have been better.  I am so rushed right now

Honest 8

Saturday, January 21st, 2006

Well last few days Ive put in an honest 8 hours.  Sometimes more if you ask me.  Ive been busting my butt to get crap done and I guess it shows.  But then also I am having to work tomorrow…a Sunday. Oh well its not that bad dont have to be there until 10am.  All I really have to do is move 3 pc’s and pull one back from the other end of the factory.  Thats another thing in itself.  Ive found out a round trip from one end to the other is right at quarter of a mile.  I end up walking it 4 to 6 times a day.  Not counting other walking either.  So in a day Im probably doing 2 to 3 miles just inside.  We will end up getting this crap done eventualy.  We are busting our asses to get Nissan up and running, Friday is like when we are susposed to have crap done…good question if it will happen or not.  Ok almost time for bed.

Slips of the fingers

Saturday, January 21st, 2006

Well it happens every now and then.  Never fails I let a little slip up screw me.  So I was trying to copy some stuff onto my laptop for work tomorrow.  I messed up and moved the wrong thing.  So I was wanting to delete something.  rm -rf /Videos is a bad thing.  I realized it after about a few moments, enough for it to have deleted 30gigs worth of stuff.  Im not exactly sure what all it deleted tho.  Ill figure that out eventualy.  Im redownloading some various things right now.  But from now on…i say this everytime…  dont use -rf on that remove statment ;)

New Laptop

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

Well Im now in the world of portable computing.  I love this thing it really is everything I wanted.  I would love a bit higher res screen, but Ill live.  It is small and lightweight which was the most important thing to me.  After that it is plenty powerfull enough, it may actualy be faster than my desktop.  I now need to get a bag for it, thinking backpack style.  Then I need a wireless G access point for here at the apartment.  I can easily get 3 hours out of the battery if I turned stuff down a bit, I know I watched atleast half of Constantine last night on battery and had 60% left on it.  I already put linux on it, dont think Ill even use the windows install.  Tempted at just formatting the whole thing again and removing windows.  But I do have this linux install how I like it, Im too picky….  Ok on with today’s work….

A singer I am not

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

Ok having in ear monitors means…DO NOT SING.  I cant carry a tune if it was in a backpack.  Having your ears so tightly plugged means you finaly get an idea of what you sound like to everyone else.  That is bad in my case.  Maybe this will break that habit of singing.  Im getting more used to the feeling of having them in, and the sound they make.  Bass response really depends on how good of a seal you have.  If it starts to sound tinny you have to reinsert the plug.  If it doesnt feel like ear plugs then you need to reinsert.  But I am amazed at the sound.  I definatly need a better source and/or an amp for really getting everything out of them.  Maybe Ill build one of those CMOY amps in an Altiods tin….

Leave Me Alone

Friday, January 6th, 2006

Ok something about a little Micheal Jackson pumping though the headphones gets ya moving in the seat a bit. Im rediscovering “personal audio”. I threw on my beautiful HD497’s and just hit shuffle on foobar, its amazing how much you miss from music in a noisy room. This is why I just purchased a set of Shure e2c’s from a guy on Genmay. I so cant wait to get them. Total isolation In Ear Monitors. They actualy cut outside sound so well, when I tested Newman’s set It was like a set of ear plugs. Actualy a bit more. I literly could not hear him say a word with or without the music going on the MP3 player. So they will be so great at the gym, and here in the apartment when I need to concentrate like now…with the dishwasher going. Oooh, little Al Green - Let’s Stay Together…you can hear the crackle from the analog recordings in 1975. I mean I do have nice speakers here on the computer, but the sub is so powerfull I can not turn them up or the neighbors tend to hate me. These over the ear headphones are comfortable for only so long tho. My ears tend to stick out a bit much so they are pushed in and get hot spots on them after a while with these on my head. But…best few bucks I ever spent.

Well New Years… My New Years resolution is the same as last years, 1280×1024 and 1024×768. I dont see much changing because of one perticular day. Thats just how I am tho. I do have a lot of crap I have to get done in these next few weeks and its not going to be painless. Ill just put on the headphones and put the head into it. Im one of those weird ones…I need noise, quiet bothers me….Ok time to get a few mins worth of work done here before going to bed.

Damn

Friday, January 6th, 2006

The holiday then the new job has my routine all out of whack. I missed rent this week. Luckly they overlook it once…if you have done good before. So I lucked out but damn it sucks, I am all good on that, but its just that the first came on the first then I dont get home till late really screwed me up. Work has been a little bit stressfull. Last two days Ive been there by myself, Im still a newbie. So I dont really know whats going on, dont know the policy and proceedures, and all that sorta thing. But oh well it will work out eventualy I guess. Next week we gota bust ass to get Nissan squared away. Then the programmers will be there the following week to help make sure the code for everything works right as we would expect it.

Well I have my new In Ear Monitors. They will take a bit to get used to, but man they are cool. You really have to get a good seal for them to work. So right now they hurt just a tad cause they are tight. Plus they kinda feel like they have a bit of a sharp edge on the plugs. Im also hearing the crackleing Ive noticed in the past. So that just shows me that my source is bad. Well this little thing that controls the volume is probably what causes it. Ill do some more testing on my mp3 player later….now back to Stargate…good eppisodes tonight. Yay for new eppisodes I was missing the new stuff
