If you arent breaking stuff…
June 15th, 2005You are going too slow. Thats my excuse and Im sticking to it damn it. Broke yet another spoke on the moutain bike. I dont think I can get any more miles out of these rims. I dont think the rims are the issues but the stock spokes are. They have 400 miles on them and pretty hard miles at that. They are just tired I think. Could be the rim deforming tho that could do it but no way of telling easily. A new set of rhynolytes will be 160 bucks with tires I think. Not able to get those for atleast a month I dont think, no money. Kinda ticks me off a bit. But I did really kill this bike. Its sitting at almost a dollar a mile for it so far. Frame is in great shape, got some noise in the drive train which I think is the pedals, and the brakes are a little soft. But other than that its in decent shape. It was up at Lock 4 and that place is really nice. Id definatly ride it again, really fast single track type of trail. Lot different than Hamilton Creek. But at 40ish miles from home thats a bit of a drive. Its almost an hour away. Land between the lakes is about 2 horus away and its more fun. Ill do it again but not often there are a few trails closer here. Riding in the woods is so much fun. Road riding is a workout and fun, but dirt in the woods….so much more. Its pretty, is cooler, its shaded, its hairy, you see stuff, you test yourself…its just soo much more. I can see me splitting up the riding between the two once I get wheels. Road 2 or 3 times a week, dirt in between atleast once a week. Its also quicker to get the heart rate up….scary at times ![]()
