Almost died

Monday, April 25th, 2005

Well close.  I was almost a triathlete sunday.  I rode on Rods bike for 15ish miles.  Was fun being on a road bike that really does make a difference.  Then after I broke a spoke on his bike, doing it on mine wasnt enough, he ended up talking me into running with him.  So that was another 3 miles of running.  Should have jumped in the creek and said I swam and done it all.  But the weekend was rather full and couldnt end quick enough.  Then it just seemed to keep spilling over into other days even some this week.  Man just for a few mins of downtime and relaxation.  Just isnt going to happen.  Ok on to American Chopper….atleast I can sit here mindless and watch it.

No new updates

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

Well no updates in a long while it seems.  I was just busy or lazy it seems.  This really isnt very new either.  I did get “A” promotion.  It wasnt what I wanted nor expected but its more money and more responsability.  Maybe little while at this Ill change again who knows.  I do now have an office with a door and everything.  Still shareing it with Rod tho.  We went in and moved it all around Monday and got situated in a couple days.  Got a new computer and have been messing with it trying to get it loaded and Linux put on it as well.  I dont know exactly what Im expected to do or whatever, but Im there and trying to learn stuff.  As it is, most my work is automated and I just monitor it makeing sure it all gets done.  My boss still doesnt like me much tho and I dont know why.

This weekend is busy.  I may end up at Josh's wedding in Niota…aka middle of no where.  Then sunday I am going to try to ride some.  I found I have 3 broken spokes on my rear tire of my bike.  Thats a huge put off Ill tell you what.  Taking it with me tomorrow to the shop see if they can get me a rush job, I doubt it.  I still dont have a road bike and no clue of when it will be able to be purchased either.  Id like to stick with the shop Ive been dealing with but they arent having much luck finding me something in my size.  I am getting a bit antsy I guess.

Not a lot going on of much concern.  Just doing the daily grind as much as I can.  Bought some more clothes, need some more still yet.  I really need new furniture but cant afford it.  Could use a bigger bed but cant afford it.  Just got to get my prioities in check I think.  And figure out what I need to do first.

Ignorance is Bliss

Sunday, April 10th, 2005

The old addage of “what you dont know cant hurt you” must be true.  Or I need to really start looking into following it more.  The more I know, or think I know, the less I like about a situation going on.  I think Id preferre to be totaly in the dark at this point.  Atleast then I wouldnt get all pissy about it.  Cant get away from it at this point tho.  Will be weeks before I can Id say.

Did get out and do quite a bit this weekend.  Saturday did 14 miles on the bike thoughout the country side in Springfield.  Found a cool road with very little traffic and lots of old homes and famrs.  Ill probably ride that way again sometime.  Washed the car finaly also.  Didnt get to wax it, maybe a week or two from now…who knows.  Spent allllll day at Rod's.  We got the peanut paddy wagon going again with a new oil gauge to check it, seems its only mildly low on pressure.  Went and picked up Rod's next car deal, it luckly drove home.  I really wanted to trash it but we didnt want to blow the motor since it ran, dang it.  Sunday got up and went to work.  About 4 hours of overtime used in making backups of 2 of the 3 most important machines in the company.  Now Im not totaly hung out in the dry if something happens.  Wouldnt mind haveing made a ghost image along with copying the drive but thats ok I guess.  Then we met up with Rick and did about 15 miles today following the 1/2 marathon route though downtown Nashville.  Lunch at Hooters then a quick spin back to the Parthenon.

Im totaly sun burnt and well…I dont know.  Weird it was just the hour on the bike that got me burnt on saturday.  Had the shirt off all day but nothing but my arms and shoulder blades that I had uncovered during our ride.  Get to try to learn what I need this week.  Spend all week in the office with Rodney trying to figure out what I am to do.  Still have no clue on my position tho.  Hopefully the boss will have me some info monday….doubtful.

Spring

Sunday, April 3rd, 2005

I love spring.  Its all nice and mild outside.  A nice 70f(21c) outside and sunny.  Just made me want to ride around for a good long time.  If I were smart I would have gotten out on the bike, but no real want since I rode like 4 days this week so legs a little tired.  12 miles yesterday so that makes a little over 50 miles this week atleast, on my way to a 200 a month summer if I can keep it up.  Thinking next weekend Ill pick up a road bike that should help make rides a lot nicer.  We did a bunch of exploring riding this week.  Rode 18 miles from Rod's brothers house down to the stadium and back that was a lot of fun.  Rod and I rode all around his small town another night.  Then yesterday it was rather cold and rainy but we rode anyway.  Ive put 250+ miles on this bike already, one broken spoke and a bent handle bar, cant complain too much.  I figure since Im doing a lot of road riding to get a road bike and leave this one to off road work and urban riding.  Then….rest of the year….saving.  Think its best if I put all this extra money towards being debt free.  In around 3 years I could be totaly debt free if I put my mind to it.  We will see….
