Well I got my talking to today.  I have the job…sorta.  I am stepping up to it, but the boss still thinks Rod isnt leaving.  He thinks sometime during those 90 days he is going to want to come back to full time.  We didnt talk money or anything serious.  I dont know whats going to happen totaly.  If Rod does leave its my position to take or turn down.  But its like Im going to be doing the job but not going to get the pay sorta the way it sounds.  Until those 90 days are up I may be getting my same pay which is a load of crap.  Once the director gets back Im going to figure out whats going on once the boss informs her whats on his mind.  The position is one I need and want.  I definatly want the money ASAP, willing to wait a bit but this is sorta stupid.  At the same time it is kinda a good showing toward the company.  Maybe Ill get these consessions made to me in the future once I decide to leave or something of the sorts.  They are fighting to keep Rod.  He is definatly a good employee, so maybe Ill get this loyalty sometime also.

I get to come off the road.  This is good and bad I guess.  I love my job as it is, I like the freedom.  But I came into it and still know now, that it was just the first step.  Cant stay an on the road tech all my life.  I cant get stuck in a rut as its felt Ive been in sorta.  3 years at the same postion doing the same ammount of work and responsability does suck at times.  I will definatly miss going out making my own hours and doing whatever I want.  Ive made friends that I hope not to loose too much touch with.  Its nice to be able to put a face on site frequently, and do it while getting paid.  But if I dont jump at this, it may be 2 more years before I can even really go anywhere.  There has been one other opertunity to leave the company for a similar position but I do like the company I work for it really is rewarding at times.  So guess this is better than last year, getting offered a position I really didnt want.  I know I want this, the small negatives doesnt outweigh the positives thats for sure.
